About Nomupay

Nomupay is a global payments platform providing card acquiring, alternative payment methods and payout solutions across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australasia.

Operating across more than 40 regulated markets, we help businesses navigate complex payment landscapes and expand internationally through our integrated payments technology and infrastructure.

As we continue to grow our presence across Asia-Pacific, we are looking for an experienced Head of Relationship Management to lead our regional Relationship Management function, strengthen strategic merchant partnerships and drive long-term commercial growth.

The Role

As Head of Relationship Management, you will lead and develop a team of Relationship Managers responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of merchants across the APAC region.

You will be responsible for building strong merchant relationships, improving retention, identifying revenue opportunities and ensuring the delivery of exceptional account management. You will combine strategic leadership with a hands-on approach to managing key accounts, supporting commercial performance and developing a high-performing team.

This role is particularly suited to someone with experience in card acquiring and payments, including complex or higher-risk merchant segments such as FX/CFD, gaming, e-commerce and dropshipping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor and develop a team of 3–4 Relationship Management professionals, setting clear objectives and driving a culture of accountability, collaboration and high performance.
  • Merchant Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key merchants, acting as a senior escalation point and ensuring high levels of satisfaction, retention and engagement.
  • Commercial Growth: Drive portfolio growth by identifying opportunities to increase processing volumes, expand existing relationships, improve revenue performance and develop strategic merchant partnerships.
  • Account Strategy: Develop and execute relationship management strategies aligned with regional commercial objectives, ensuring appropriate account plans are in place for key merchants.
  • Retention & Renewals: Proactively manage merchant retention, contract renewals, pricing discussions and commercial negotiations to maximise long-term value.
  • Performance Management: Establish and monitor KPIs relating to retention, revenue, processing volumes, account growth and overall portfolio performance.
  • Risk & Compliance: Work closely with Risk, Compliance and Operations teams to ensure merchant relationships are managed in line with internal policies, regulatory requirements and risk appetite.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Product, Operations, Risk and Compliance teams to resolve merchant challenges, improve service delivery and support business growth.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve relationship management processes, reporting, team effectiveness and the overall merchant experience.

Your profile

What We're Looking For

  • Approximately 10 years' experience in relationship management, account management or a commercial role within payments, fintech, banking or financial services.
  • Demonstrable experience in card acquiring and payment processing, with a strong understanding of the merchant payments ecosystem.
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring or managing a team of Relationship Managers or account management professionals.
  • Experience managing complex merchant portfolios, ideally including higher-risk sectors such as FX/CFD, gaming, e-commerce or dropshipping.
  • A strong commercial mindset, with a proven ability to drive merchant retention, revenue growth and processing volume expansion.
  • Experience managing senior merchant stakeholders, negotiating commercial terms and resolving escalated account issues.
  • Strong understanding of merchant risk, compliance considerations and the importance of working closely with second-line and operational teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, international environment, balancing strategic priorities with hands-on account management.
